May 2011 has been a very big month for Americans. Not only is it "National Military Appreciation Month," but our military even succeeded in killing one of the most hated men in America - Osama Bin Laden - as a bonus. Now, in honor of all of the soldiers that have protected us for all of these years, General Motors is expanding their $500-$4,000 discounts off of selected Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC vehicles to include military spouses and retirees. Vehicles purchased by these families will get an “Honor” badge and donations of $100 will be made to Cell Phones for Soldiers for each eligible vehicle sold with a military discount.

In addition to the added discounts and donations, Chevrolet will also be debuting a special edition CamaroSS called Honor and Valor. This special edition will be limited to only 99 units and will make its world debut during the Indianapolis 500 military personnel parade on May 28, 2011.

"We are committed to offering military professionals and their family members the best value in the industry," said Dan Akerson, General Motors Chairman and CEO. Prepare for impending teasing over the next few days as Citroën has released the first in a likely series of preview images of the third member in its distinctive line of DS models, the DS5, which will receive its world premiere on 18 April at the Shanghai International Motor Show.

Aside from the image pictured above, the French carmaker is keeping mum on all the details simply stating that the “DS5 is set to bring distinctive new elegance and panache to the executive class”.

It is believed that the new DS5 will be based on the architecture of Citroën’s C5 mid-size model with engine options including the PSA Citroën-Peugeot group’s Hybrid4 diesel-electric hybrid powertrain.

The DS lineup was inaugurated in 2009 with the launch of the DS3 supermini, while Citroën expanded the range with the introduction of the DS4, a high-stance five-door hatchback, at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

Citroen did their best in making the driver’s job as easy as possible. If your reading this and wondering, “hey whats a Toyota Supra” then perhaps this image will refresh your memory, yes thats it, the loud cars with the gigantic wing that you see flying around the city late at night. Believe it or not, they are more than 10 years old and even today their timeless shape and cult following has kept them on Australian roads.

You know when I wrote the Toyota FT-HS Concept article, I was thinking, hey this would be a great idea if it become the next Toyota Supra, and what do you know? Rumours are spreading like wildfire that yes indeed, this car has a great deal of potential to become the next Toyota Supra.

Toyota started the Supra project back in the days when it was still testing the ground to see if it could sell Luxury vehicles in the US, of course, now that Lexus is dominating the luxury segment in the states (and not doing too badly here either), the answer was an obvious yes.

However a few years ago Toyota went a little crazy, they decided that they no longer needed proper sports cars, they dumped the MR2 (After they turned it into the revolting male hairdresser car, which was its last incarnation), they dumped the Celica (having already dumped the GT4 version of the celicas some time ago) and they had already given up on the Supra back in 2002.

So whilst I say toyota gave up on sports cars, they of course had the Lexus IS series, but since Toyota wants to stay very separate to Lexus, there is no point in counting the IS series as part of Toyota’s sports line up. Hence began the era of “Sportivo” the horrible name associated with front-wheel-drive vehicles that were nothing more than a last minute decision to add some “sportyness” to the brand.

Of course for those who bought the likes of Camry/Corollo Sportivos, the sheer shame of driving a car named sportivo should have been enough disappointment, but Toyota has gotten away with having no real sports car for a very long time!

Till this day, the ultimate sports car for Toyota enthusiasts remains the Toyota Supra. The beloved Toyota sports car ended production in 2002, and ever since there has been continuos speculation of a successor.
When the Toyota FT-HS Hybrid Concept made its debut back in 2007, the possibility of a Supra successor started to look bright; however, Toyota later said that sports car just have a lesser priority on the company’s to-do list.
Well, according to the insiders at 7Tune, work has secretly continued on a Supra successor and with enthusiast Akio Toyoda now taking over as CEO, we’re probably closer than ever to a new Toyota Supra.

Internally known as the 086A, a prototype is expected to be completed by the end of 2009. The car has moved out of design phase and sources say that Toyota is looking at a 3.5L V6 engine that will be mated to the current Toyota Crown hybrid system delivering a total of 400-hp to the rear-wheel-drive sports car.

The new Supra will mate a 3.6 V6 to a Hybrid system based on the current Camry. The gas/hybrid combo platter should deliver an estimated 400hp to the rear wheels; all the while achieving excellent fuel economy and emitting super low emissions.

It’s seems quite possible that the new Hybrid Supra will usher in a new type of sports car; one that is fast , one that is efficient, one that is environmentally friendly, and one that will change the notion of “what a traditional sports car should be” forever. We eagerly look forward to its arrival.

Suzuki’s stand at this month’s 2011 New York International Auto Show will feature two brand new concepts cars, both based on the Kizashi sedan. In the Japanese automaker’s own words, the first study will be a “stylish and socially-conscious sedan propelled by a newly-developed advanced powertrain”, while the second concept will be a “wildly-schemed and amped up homage to Suzuki’s iconic motorcycle heritage”.

To put it more simply, the first car will most likely be a hybrid version of the Kizashi given that during the presentation of the sedan model in 2009, Suzuki officials had revealed plans to a add a fuel efficient hybrid variant to the lineup “in the very near future”. As for the second Kizashi concept, it will be custom tuned model with numerous styling cues inspired from the company’s motorcycle division.

For 3-Series buyers the M3 is the halo of the lineup and with the latest generation of the car buyers can opt for either coupe, convertible or practical four-door sedan bodystyles. Additionally, the 2011 BMW M3 is like no other before it. This generation’s heavier, more expensive and offers a dual clutch transmission; oh, and it’s got a V-8 engine too.

For driving enthusiasts the M3 has been the model of choice in BMW’s lineup for a while now, though that title arguably has passed on to the smaller and more affordable 1-Series M Coupe. For this reason, we only rate the M3 a 7.5 out of 10 here at MotorAuthority.

That doesn’t mean the car isn’t worth a close look at. Compared with its closest competitors, the Audi S4, Cadillac CTS-V and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, the BMW M3 is like a scalpel among butter knives.

The steering is quick yet very accurate. Just throw it at a corner and the car moves with predictability and always feels solid. Our only quip is that the car’s 4.0-liter V-8 engine really needs some revs dialed up before any fireworks happen and even when it does, the 414 horsepower doesn’t quite feel like it’s all there.

The M3’s still very quick, especially if you opt for the M DCT dual clutch unit, though the manual is just as good if you prefer the old-school option.

Incidentally, this high-rev V-8 engine is based on the larger 5.0-liter V-10 unit from the outgoing M5 and M6 and features the same 90-degree cylinder-bank angle, identical bore and stroke measurements and four-valve-per-cylinder layout. A full aluminum block, magnesium cam covers and aluminum-silicon alloy for the crankcase, allowed engineers to keep weight of the engine at just 445 pounds, 30 pounds less than the previous M3’s straight six.

Quality, fit, and finish are all excellent, as you'd expect from BMW. An area where it also excels is styling. The M3 series has never fallen short in the looks department, and the latest generation doesn't disappoint--in fact, it may be the sharpest M3 range ever.

With pricing starting at $55,900 for the sedan, $58,900 for the coupe, and $67,550 for the convertible, the 2011 BMW M3 is one premium performance machine that you won’t have to blow the bank account to buy. Few race cars enjoy the reversal of fortune that BMW's M3 enjoyed over the past two seasons of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). In 2000, the M3 race car, which is known as the M3 GTR and races in the GT class, won only once and was trounced by its chief rival, the Porsche 911. But BMW roared back in 2001, winning six of the eight races and taking the manufacturers' championship and the drivers' crown for pilot Jörg Müller. It was an extraordinary feat considering Porsches outnumbered BMWs four to one at most races. What BMW did was replace the M3 GTR's six-cylinder engine with a V-8, which spelled more low-end grunt. A little history explains why the engine swap was beneficial. By the end of the 2000 season, the 3.2-liter six had reached a horsepower plateau after six years. The problem was the rule-mandated intake restrictor plate with its 1.7-inch-diameter hole to reduce the amount of air that enters the engine. As an engine spins faster and needs more air, the restrictor's effectiveness increases. And how! Think of breathing through a straw: You can take regular breaths through it easily enough, but start exercising and breathing hard, and suddenly, getting air into and out of that straw is tough. In the GT class, the restrictor makes a smaller, high-revving engine less effective than one with more displacement and low-end torque. Because of the bore spacing of the BMW six, the engine could not grow beyond 3.2 liters. Porsche's flat-six displaces 3.6 liters. The rules said that even though the Porsche displaced about 400 more cubic centimeters it must use the same 1.7-diameter restrictor as the BMW. Same size straw, but the Porsches had a bigger engine and, according to BMW, a huge advantage. The M3's V-8 is not a version of the engine that powers BMW street cars. It's a racing motor designed by the same BMW Motorsport branch that built the engine many believe was the most powerful Formula 1 engine in 2001, the BMW V-10. The V-8 has an aluminum block and heads, four cams, four valves per cylinder, and port fuel injection. Its 4.0-liter displacement is a huge increase over the old six's. BMW claims the new engine makes 444 horsepower, 42 more than the suspiciously low 402 figure Porsche quotes for its 911 GT3 race car and 24 more than the six-cylinder M3 racer made. The big difference is torque: BMW's V-8 makes 354 pound-feet, the Porsche 911 makes 281. A six-speed nonsynchro gearbox transmits power though a limited-slip rear differential to 11.4-inch-wide Yokohama racing slicks. The V-8 M3 uses the same basic chassis as the six. As the rules require, it's based on the stock M3 body shell. But by the time BMW has added safety-cage bars, new suspension bits, carbon-fiber bodywork, front and rear wings, and a data-acquisition system, the GTR is far closer to a purpose-built race car than a street car. We were invited for a ride at Sebring by one of the two BMW teams, Team PTG. We realized just how racy this Bimmer is as soon as we tried to get it moving. The clutch is a five-inch carbon disc that presses on a flywheel that's "only large enough to fit the clutch," says the large and imposing PTG president, Tom Milner. With such a small, light flywheel, the engine feels as if it were jacked up on amphetamines, instantly responding to prods of the accelerator. To get under way, you either do a kamikaze clutch drop or you delicately brush the throttle as you slowly release the clutch pedal. We managed to crawl out of the pits without stalling and then spent the next few laps puttering around for the photographer. On lap three, we got on the gas and blasted down the front straight to Turn One. Only Al Gore groupies will fail to slobber all over the V-8. It screams. The crankshaft is of the single-plane variety, so the usual V-8 rumble is replaced by a high-pitched guttural snarl that rips. With gearing that tops out at 152 mph, the V-8 gets the car to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, 1.3 seconds quicker than a street M3. The engine doles out power like a turbine—eerily smooth, so smooth that on the second turn, a low-speed second-gear right-hander, we went to full power too soon, expecting the silky power band to keep the tires hooked up. Auf wiedersehen! The rear tires lit up, and the car spun. The damage was limited to the ego, so we pressed on while keeping in mind Milner's little caution: "You crash my car, I kill you!" Spin aside, the GTR is a breeze to drive. In the turns, it's as grippy as driving on fly paper. We were unable to test on a skidpad, but in a slow turn that most replicated one, our VBOX recorded 1.2 g of lateral grip. In a high-speed turn, where downforce comes into play, we recorded 1.4 g. The very grippy street M3 manages just 0.87 g. Two things impressed: rock-solid stability at high speed and amazing brakes. Going 150 was absolutely serene. Plexiglass covers both window openings, so there's no wind buffeting. As in a video game, the only indication of speed is the scenery flashing by. As for the brakes, in every measure—feel, effort, and effectiveness—they were perfect. There's no power assist, yet the pedal isn't stiff. We never got used to their immense stopping power; we'd brake way too early and have to get back on the gas to go through the turn. As sweet as the M3 GTR is, it might have proved too dominant. Last November, the rule makers told BMW it had to build 50 V-8 M3s for the street by March or carry as much as a 220-pound weight penalty and a smaller restrictor. BMW says it's built one of the European-only $225,000 street M3 V-8s and can't meet the production deadline. BMW also claims the engine and weight handicaps would make the GTR so noncompetitive that it wouldn't bother racing the car. As of this writing, BMW hadn't announced its plans for the 2002 season. Although this rules battle sounds like typical racing politics, we'd hate to see the V-8 GTR parked next season.

The legend is back, yup! its a McLaren F1 LM, only 6 built, 5 for the roads and 1 prototype (called XP1 LM). The prototype rests in McLaren technology center (MTC) while out of remaining five, two are owned by the Sultan of Brunei. The LM's are characterized by their distinctive orange color. The ones owned by Sultan of Brunei are black.

LMs were made as road going versions of famous F1 GTR, 5 GTRs were made which participated in LeMans 24 hours in 1995 and won.

The XP1 LM has been promised to Ron Dennis to be given to Lewis Hamilton if he wins two more world championships, don't forget Lewis and Jenson would be the first people to get McLaren's latest supercar the MP4-12C. The current worth of XP1 LM is around $4 million.

The only difference of LM from its big brothers (the GTRs) was that it didn't have race mandated restrictors. The LM produced 680bhp with 705Nm of torques. It was one of the fastest accelerating McLaren produced, 0-60 in 3.9seconds.

The F1 LM was slower in top speed as compared to record setting F1. It had a top speed of 225m/h because of the rear spoiler that increased aerodynamic drag.

This is the prototype F1 LM called XP1 LM with rests in McLaren technology centre in Woking, England.

On bodywork terms, LM was identical to the GTR, in picture below bottom two are F1 and F1 GTR and at the top is the LM. Picture says it all...

This is the 2011 Audi TT. It looks the same, it steers the same and it sticks the same. But there's one major difference: torque. Audi has managed to coax an additional 51 pound-feet of twist from its ever-evolving 2.0-liter TFSI four cylinder. The result? The standard TT isn't just the Bauhaus design icon that propelled Audi into the luxury limelight at the end of the last decade – it's finally a proper sports car. And it's about damned time. Follow the jump to see what we're torquing about.
Even the most hardened Audi aficionado would have a hard time spotting the differences between the 2011 model and its predecessor, so here is the Cliff's Notes version from our time spent with new TT in Germany this week.

Both the TT Coupe and Roadster sport a new front bumper with larger air intakes, high-gloss black grille accents and chrome bezels framing the fog lamps. The most obvious visual additions are the 12 LEDs lining the bottom of the optional Xenon headlamps, the larger dual exhausts and the new front splitter and rear diffuser. Both come standard in matte black, but for our money, the optional carbon fiber pieces are a racy, sophisticated touch that we'd check on the option box. Add the carbon fiber mirrors to the package and you can brag to your friends that they're the same units fitted to Audi's six-figure R8. Also, we're totally crushing on the new Oolong Gray exterior (pictured), one of four new exterior colors available for the 2011 model year.

The updates inside are far less dramatic and include a smattering of high-gloss interior trim and shiny accents, along with new brushed aluminum pieces on the center console, door liner and flat-bottom steering wheel. It's all subtle, all subdued and all available in three new interior colors: Garnet Red, Nougat Brown and Titanium Grey. But forget all that. The engine is clearly the belle of the ball, and it's time to put on our tux.

The 2.0-liter TFSI's interior code name (EA888) gets a new designation affixed to the end: AVS. In conjunction with a revised intake manifold and a new turbo, the Audi Valvelift System electronically controls and manually actuates the exhaust valves on the iron block four-cylinder to coax out 211 horsepower (up from 200 ponies) and 258 pound-feet of torque beginning at a thoroughly usable 1,600 rpm. By no accident, the four's torque output begins to fall off at 4,200 rpm, just as peak horsepower arrives at 4,300 rpm and continues unabated until 6,000 rpm. Equipped with the six-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive, the retuned TT is good for a claimed 0-60 mph sprint of 5.6 seconds and top speed of just over 150 mph. If you had any reservations about Audi nixing the 3.2-liter FSI V6 from the TT lineup last year, leave them at the door. We did just as we crested 130 mph on the Autobahn.

Our initial blast from Munich to Ingolstadt was behind the wheel of a Euro-spec front-wheel drive TT – a budget option we don't get in the States. That's just fine, because you don't want it.

As we learned earlier this week, Audi is committed to reducing the weight of its vehicles by using an amalgamation of composites, aluminum and steel. In the TT, this is key. With the engine mounted up front, Audi took pains to balance weight distribution by using plenty of aluminum in front, with a steel floor pan in the rear. Yet despite the heavier material out back, the resulting 59/41 front-to-rear weight distribution isn't exactly sports car-ideal on the FWD model. Our triple-digit 'bahn-burning and brief backroad blast exposed the front-driven TT as slightly squirrely and less planted at speed. However, add the all-wheel-drive components out back, and the short wheelbase and better weight distribution makes for an eminently more entertaining driving experience.

With the seven-speed S tronic set to manual and the new Sport button depressed (tightened steering, sharper throttle and quicker shifts), any and all questions about the TT's sports car pretenses were immediately laid to rest. The amount of tractable torque in the lower rev-range was predictably reminiscent of the hotter TTS – it's putting out the same amount of twist, after all – with things beginning to run out of steam at around 5,500 rpm. Gear changes by the six-speed dual-clutch remain clean and precise, and with the additional twist on tap, turns we would've taken in second are easily dispatched in third, allowing you to sprint from bend to bend without having to rely on the steering wheel-mounted paddles or push-and-pull gear lever. Since we haven't been overly enamored with the pedal placement on the the manual TT (heel and toe has always been an issue), the dual-clutch tranny continues to be our favorite 'box of the bunch.

Throw the S-Line package into the mix, along with the new Sport button and extra torque, and you've got a budget TTS for thousands less. Which brings up a point: While the 265-hp TTS is still the king of the hill (unless the TT RS gets greenlit for the U.S.), Audi is sure to be planning an EA888-based upgrade in the near future. Until that 300-hp coupe arrives, the upgraded 2011 TT is easily one of the best value propositions in the segment, and finally achieves what Audi set out to accomplish when the TT was introduced in 1998. It's finally a proper entry-level luxury sports car, balancing style, substance and speed into one of the most attractive two-doors ever to hail from Deutschland.

The higher-performance limited production version, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT produces more emissions-legal horsepower than any other production automobile in the world & holds the Guinness book of world records record for being the second fastest production car in the world (behind the 2010 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport),with a recorded speed of 412.28 km/h (256.18 mph).This speed was achieved during tests on September 13, 2007 West Richland, Washington, United States and verified by Guinness World Records on October 9, 2007.This speed however does not reflect the Ultimate Aero TT's full potential. The Ford Galaxie was a full-size car built in the United States by the Ford Motor Company for model years 1959 through 1974. The name was used for the top models in Ford’s full-size range from 1959 until 1961, in a marketing attempt to appeal to the excitement surrounding the Space Race. In 1962, all full-size Fords wore the Galaxie badge, with "500" and "500/XL" denoting the higher series. 1965 saw the introduction of the Galaxie 500/LTD, followed by Galaxie 500 7-Litre in 1966. The Galaxie 500 part was dropped from the LTD in 1966, and from the XL in 1967, however the basic series structuring levels were maintained. The "regular" Galaxie 500 continued below the LTD as Ford’s mid-level full-size model from 1965 until its demise at the end of the 1974 model year.
The Galaxie was the high volume counterpart to the Chevrolet Impala. Some Galaxies were high-performance, racing specification machines, a larger forebear to the muscle car era. Others were plain family sedans.

A version of the car was also produced in Brazil under the names Galaxie 500, LTD and Landau from 1967 to 1983.

The similarly named Ford Galaxy is a large car/minivan available in the European market. The vehicle's name is taken from the original Ford Galaxie.

The Honda Accord is a series of mid-size automobiles manufactured by Honda since 1976, and sold in the majority of automotive markets throughout the world.

In 1982, the Accord which had always been manufactured in Sayama, Japan — became the first Japanese car to be produced in the United States when production commenced in Marysville, Ohio at Honda's Marysville Auto Plant. In addition, the Accord is, or has been, produced in Nelson in New Zealand, Swindon in England, Guangzhou in China and Ayutthaya in Thailand. The Accord has achieved considerable success, especially in the United States, where it was the best-selling Japanese car for fifteen years (1982–97), topping its class in sales in 1991 and 2001, with around ten million vehicles sold.Numerous tests, past and present, rate the Accord as one of the world's most reliable vehicles.

Since initiation, Honda has offered several different car body styles and versions of the Accord, and often vehicles marketed under the Accord nameplate concurrently in different regions differ quite substantially. It debuted in 1976 as a compact hatchback, though this style only lasted through 1981, as the line-up was expanded to include a sedan, coupé, and wagon. By the Accord's sixth generation in the 1990s, it evolved into an intermediate vehicle, with one basic platform but with different bodies and proportions to increase its competitiveness against its rivals in different international markets. For the current generation of the Accord released for the North American market in 2008, Honda has again chosen to move the model further up-scale and increase its size. This pushed the Accord sedan from the upper limit of what the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defines as a mid-size car to just above the lower limit of a full-size car,with the coupe still rated as a mid-size car.

The Lamborghini Reventón (Spanish pronunciation: [Rebenton]) is a mid-engined sports car that debuted at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. It ranks as one of the most powerful and expensive Lamborghini road cars to date, costing one million euros (~US$1.25 million, or ~£850,000).The official press release stated that only 20 vehicles would be released to the public,with one additional car (marked as 0/20) produced for the Lamborghini Museum.Although early rumours indicated the total number would actually be 100, each Reventón is clearly stamped with its number in the sequence of 20 between the driver's and passenger's seats.

Despite the exterior being new,almost all the mechanical elements (including the engine) are sourced directly from the Murciélago LP640.According to the official press release, the Reventón exterior styling was inspired by the "the fastest airplanes".To emphasize this, Lamborghini staged a race between a Reventón and a Panavia Tornado fighter plane

Mercedes-Benz tuning arm Brabus has a unique new package for buyers of its tweaked SLR McLaren roadster. For a cool €699,000 ($1,064,000), you get a customized SLR with a matching Brabus version of the Smart Fortwo—kind of like a suit with a matching tie.

Both vehicles add body kits, flashy wheels, fatter tires, and matching paint and interiors—but the similarities end there. The Brabus SLR is fitted with 20-inch forged aluminum wheels that the company claims will “further optimize handling and performance.” The front end receives a lift-reducing carbon-fiber spoiler, and the rear apron gets a similar carbon-fiber diffuser.

As if the stock SLR supercar didn’t have enough power from the factory, Brabus fits the 5.5-liter supercharged V-8 with more-aggressive camshafts and a fuel cooler. These two improvements net a gain of 24 horsepower for a total of 641. To help keep this power to the ground, a clutch-type limited-slip differential replaces the stock piece. These improvements allow the Brabus SLR to achieve 62 mph in a claimed 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph.

The interior is adorned with exclusive red leather and black Alcantara. The steering wheel gets a flat bottom to allow the driver to slip into and out of the roadster more easily. Carbon fiber trims the dashboard, the door panels, and the center console.

On the other hand, the Brabus-tuned Smart Fortwo, which is called the Ultimate 112, gets fender flares, a front spoiler, and side skirts. New 18-inch wheels with wider tires are bolted on to fill up the flares and provide more traction for the namesake 112-hp three-cylinder turbocharged engine. A tuned coil-over suspension keeps the wider tires pinned to the ground. The stainless-steel sport exhaust further informs others that you are not driving an ordinary Fortwo.
